Rely on the bond, even if you don’t see it
We all know adhesives or sealants from the usage at home. But actually, they are omnipresent but mostly invisible. Adhesives secretly and reliably work in the background. And their role in bonding various surfaces together is indispensable. And a life without this bond is unthinkable.
A wide range of adhesive and sealant compositions contains our oligomeric and amorphous resins. The latter could be the main component of certain adhesive formulations.
In Adhesive and Sealant Industry, natural and synthetic tackifying resins are used to generate tack and adhesion onto several substrates, while improving the processability of adhesive and sealant formulations. This is due to the excellent compatibility of resins with the base polymers introduced in a glue or a sealant.
Could you imagine looking through a foggy window? Well, you would without adhesives and sealants. In modern glazing systems such as double or triple glazing, the impermeable connection of the glass panels is provided by the sealant. Without it, moisture would penetrate the frame and leave fog on the inner surfaces of the window system.
Moreover, basically all goods you buy are packaged in some way. These packages need safe closing systems to protect the goods from external impact. This allows for tight closure and safe transport.
In the case where the compatibility is partially between the base polymer and the tackifying resins, our products (mainly synthetic resins) should be considered as a reinforcing component enabling to improve the Cohesion/Adhesion balance of adhesive and sealant compositions.
These resins are used in various end-markets such as:
- packaging
- non-wovens
- woodworking
- bookbinding
- Shoe sole industry
- Food contact
- Tapes &labels
- construction
- hygiene adhesive & contact adhesive
Additional examples are:
- Combining: Creating synergies of materials, optimizing their individual performance in laminates
- Constructing: Sustainably bonding building materials, enabling light weight construction
- Repairing: Bring elements back together, extending their lifetime
- Design: Optimize the portfolio of materials for product development, offering new product attributes
- Different applications technics of resins are available: hot-melts, solvent-based, water-based
