Regarding resins in general: any natural or synthetic sticky organic substance consisting of various amorphous solid or viscous liquid. Natural resins are typically fusible and flammable organic substances that are transparent or translucent and are yellowish to brown in colour. They are formed in plant secretions and are soluble in various organic liquids but not in water. Synthetic resins comprise a large class of synthetic products that have some of the physical properties of natural resins but are different chemically. Synthetic resins are not clearly differentiated from plastics. Both types of resins are used in many different applications but synthetic resins can be used to make plastics.

Regarding our HARRPA resins: The raw materials are produced from co-products from the petrochemical industry and natural materials from the tree obtained via paper production (tall oil rosin) or directly harvested from the trees (gum rosin) or even extracted from pine stumps (wood rosin). After processing, the raw materials become resins. Depending on the starting material and processing the resin’s appearance is (brittle) solid or liquid at ambient temperatures. The colour ranges from water white to dark yellow/brown
