The REACH regulation is a European legislative regime on the management of chemicals. European producers and importers must submit a REACH registration dossier of their substance to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The registration of a substance is a joined effort of the companies registering the same substance. The dossier contains information on the substance identity, the use of the substance, the toxicology and eco-toxicology.

Rosins and their derivatives are considered substances in REACH and therefore need to be registered.

Hydrocarbon Resins are polymers. REACH exempts polymers from registration. However, the monomers in the polymer require registration.

HARRPA has established the H4R (HARRPA for REACH) consortium for the REACH registration and other REACH associated obligations.

HARRPA developed Exposure Scenarios to harmonise the use of resins across the supply chain.
